Remembrance Day Information 2020

Remembrance Day Information 2020

There won’t be a parade this year because of the COVID Regulations.

The Church service will be shorter than normal with a maximum of 65 people in attendance.

There will be no standing in the Churchyard or on the street outside the Church.

The wreath-laying will be quite difficult as well with regulations in place.

The difference this year will be that the official wreath-laying will take place as normal but with distancing in place.

Members of the public who wish to lay wreaths can do this anytime throughout the day adhering to regulations.

The British Legion will still be attaching poppies to the lamp posts as they do every year, but there won’t be any stands in the shops like Sainsbury’s and coop as regulations won’t allow this.

There will be poppies and other items being sold in selected shops selling them.

Anyone having trouble getting hold of a poppy or merchandise this year can call 01773 513898 and a volunteer will deliver the item you want to your address.

Finally, as we all have to adhere to the regulations set out by the government the British Legion would ask that people stand outside their own homes in a safe environment and pay your respects with 2 minutes silence to remember the people who have fought and worked on the front line in the armed forces to keep people safe around the world.
