World War 1 Commemoration Concert ONLY REMEMBERED

25th July 2014 to 9th August 2014

This original musical show written and performed by BelCanto Male Chorus, tells the story of two pals from Derbyshire, and takes us from the rural idyll of pre war Britain to the battlefields of World War 1 and the hell of the trenches. Using music of the era we offer an evening which will entertain as well as giving an opportunity to commemorate the events which took place 100 years ago.

There will be songs, poems and sketches from the chorus as well as an audience sing along. The audience will smile, may shed a tear but will certainly be entertained.

Our story begins as men return from work, singing, as they meet for a teatime drink in the local pub, unaware how close they are to being at war.
Scene 2 takes place in church where the village meet to bid farewell to Billy and Joe as they prepare to join the fighting in France.
Scene 3 sees our heroes facing the reality of life in the trenches.
Finally in scene 4 we return to England and to the pub where our story began.

Local business, individuals and organisations have generously sponsored us which has enabled us to stage this show. This means that all proceeds from the sale of tickets goes to our chosen charity, Help for Heroes.
