Creative Crafts And Trains! Family Fun This Half Term At The West Shed Museum, Midland Railway-Butterley

19th February 2018 to 23rd February 2018
(The West Shed is open every day 11am-4pm)

Looking for something to entertain the kids during Half Term? There's plenty to occupy them at the West Shed Museum with our family activities!
- Create a 'junk model' train using recycled materials.
- Have a go at craft activities to celebrate Chinese New Year!
- Play with our wooden train sets and pretend to be a train driver on our miniature sit-on engine.

Craft activities will be available Monday 19th - Friday 23rd February 2018. We are open 11am-4pm - just drop in. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Activities are free of charge but donations are always welcome!

Also during February Half Term - heritage diesel trains will be running from Butterley Station (fare payable). For train times/ fares and information about other on-site attractions please see the Midland Railway's

Please note that the West Shed Museum is a separate organisation from the Midland Railway-Butterley and therefore not involved in the operation of trains from Buttterley - please contact them directly for any enquiries tel. 01773 570140.

The West Shed is located on the Swanwick Junction museum complex of the Midland Railway-Butterley. Normal access to the site is via a heritage train ride from Butterley Station (fare payable), alighting at Swanwick Station to walk up to the West Shed (approx. 430 metres walk including some uneven ground).

Access to Swanwick Junction is also possible via a walking route from Butterley Station. Please note: this is half a mile over uneven ground and unfortunately not suitable for visitors with limited mobility, wheelchairs or pushchairs. When trains are not running, please enquire about alternative access options.
