Vintage Train Event At Midland Railway Centre, Ripley

26th August 2017 to 28th August 2017

Step back in time and experience travel as it would have been over 100 years ago. For two special weekends, the restored vintage carriages are brought out of the museum to operate train services for visitors. In 2017, a newly restored carriage will take to the tracks for the first time, after 15 years of hard work! Midland Railway Trust volunteers will be on the trains in period costume to add to the atmosphere and answer your questions.

The first weekend is over the May Day Bank Holiday and runs from the 29th April to the 1st May 2017 and the second opportunity to step back in time is during the August Bank Holiday from the 26th August to 28th August 2017.

Visitors in Victorian costume travel at half price. All of the usual attractions will be open.
