Robbery in Ripley
Detectives are appealing for information after a man had his wallet stolen during a robbery as he walked home through Ripley. At around 10.30pm on Thursday, September 6 a 21-year-old man was walking along Slack Lane when a man came up behind him and grabbed his wrist. The offender demanded the victim’s wallet and then punched him in the face. The victim attempted to hit the offender back and fell to the floor. The offender then reached into the victim’s pocket and took his wallet and then ran off in the direction of the Market Place. The victim suffered minor cuts to his hand and face. The offender is described as white, around 6ft tall, early 20s and of muscular build. He was wearing a black hooded jumper and bandana across his face, black trousers and white trainers. He also had a distinctive tattoo on the back of his left hand of a star with Chinese writing underneath. Police would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident.
