Derby County football club gives a season of support for local hospices
Derby County Football Club teamed up with Treetops Hospice and Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People to raise the vital funds, as part of The Football League’s official charity partnership with Help the Hospices.
Raising just over £4,000 throughout the season, DCFC held bucket collections, donated auction prizes, hosted events, and arranged player visits to the hospice to see first-hand the impact of their support. The club also invited hospice patients and volunteers as VIP guests on match days.
Alex Ward, Treetops Hospice Corporate Fundraiser, said “Derby County Football Club has been very pleased to support two such worthwhile local causes as Treetops and Rainbows over the past season. Hospice care touches so many peoples’ lives and it is fantastic that the club has been able to help both an adult and children’s hospice providing care in the same local community as our fans live. On a personal note I’m very proud to have been ambassador for Rainbows Hospice, the work they do for young children is immense. I know Frank Fielding feels the same about his association with Treetops. We hope to continue to be able to assist both charities with the incredible work they do”.
