Sergeant leads Safer Neighbourhood policing teams in the Belper area
A new Sergeant is leading the Safer Neighbourhood policing teams in Belper, Kilburn, Duffield, Quarndon, Kirk Langley, Heage and Ambergate. Sergeant Neil Glover has taken over from Richard Booth, who has been promoted to the role of response Inspector in the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales. Forty three year old Sergeant Glover, who has lived in the local area all his life, has been a police officer for more than 12 years. During his career he has worked as a response officer in Derby, and spent time working within the Community Safety and Public Protection units. Outside of work, Sgt Glover, who is married and has a 14 year old son and a nine year old son, enjoys sport, especially cricket and rugby. He also takes part in a number of different martial arts, has a black belt in Taekwondo and is currently studying Stringer Ju-Ka-Do. Sgt. Glover said: “I’m looking forward to the new challenges that neighbourhood policing brings and to working within Belper and the surrounding areas. “While it is my first time in a neighbourhood policing role, I hope to be able to build upon my experience of working within the Community Safety and Public Protection units and continue to target community concerns. My teams have developed strong links within the community and my aim is to maintain these, and to also develop new ones.” To contact the Safer Neighbourhood policing teams in the Belper, Kilburn, Duffield, Quarndon, Kirk Langley, Heage and Ambergate areas call 101.
