Drop in events offer quit advice on National No Smoking Day

March 13th is National No Smoking day and Derbyshire County Council will be hosting a series of stop smoking drop in events across the county.

They run ’Live Life Better Derbyshire’ – a free healthy lifestyles service offering advice on a range of health and wellbeing concerns.

Cabinet Member for Health and Communities Councillor Carol Hart said:

“Smoking is still one of the biggest causes of premature death in England but there’s lots of support on offer for Derbyshire residents who want to quit.

“Live Life Better offers free advice and support, including free NRT and access to prescription medications.

“We’d encourage anyone who wants to stop smoking to give our friendly team a call.”

Visitors to Chesterfield on 13 March have the chance to get up close and personal with a gigantic pair of inflatable lungs aimed at encouraging them to think about quitting smoking.

The lungs will be in place from 9.30am to 3pm on Wednesday 13 March 2019 in Chesterfield’s Pavements shopping centre.
